Career Paths

You will be supported to progress through each grade at Alpha, with a formal appraisal and promotion opportunity once a year. From Senior Manager and upwards you will have the opportunity to work as a Specialist or a Generalist.

Analyst
Supported by their teams and dedicated managerial guidance, our analysts ensure seamless operations and deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Consultant
Our consultants are adept at project delivery, acting as the backbone of large-scale change programs while also demonstrating the ability to work independently on smaller projects.
Manager
Utilising their extensive client delivery experience, our managers lead small projects and workstreams within large-scale change programmes, often managing a small team to do so.
Senior Manager
As experts in one of Alpha's key practice areas, our senior managers spearhead complex projects, playing a vital role in the successful operation of our business.
Associate Director
With a deep understanding of both Alpha and our clients, generalist associate directors take the lead on large transformation programmes, working cross-functionally to deliver our clients' strategic goals. Specialist associate directors work across multiple projects simultaneously, providing deep subject matter expertise on one of our practice areas.
Director
Directors play a key role in developing our business. This involves managing client relationships, overseeing the successful delivery of engagements, and developing our next generation of leaders.
Executive Director
Executive Directors make up Alpha's senior leadership team, and are responsible for leading significant parts of our business - either practices or client segments. As part of this, they have responsibility for client relationships, successful delivery and talent development.

Meet The Team

Alpha’s Management Committee (ManCo) leads the UK team. They have a broad remit: from day-to-day management of the firm, to planning the strategy and development of the business, to recruitment, socials and wellbeing. At Alpha, you will have the opportunity to support the ManCo in areas that interest you from the very start of your career, helping you develop a deep understanding of how the business operates.

Our Management Team

Chris Kroeger

Executive Director and Head of UK - Asset & Wealth Management Consulting

Chris is the Head of UK Asset & Wealth Management Consulting at Alpha. Chris is responsible for a team of almost 200 consultants who are leading industry change projects across all of the UK’s top asset management firms.

Chris was most recently Global Head of Change and Transformation at HSBC Asset Management. Prior to that, Chris had spent eight years at Alpha as a director within the Asset and Wealth Management business, leading projects across the value chain on a range of strategic programmes in the industry from Digital Distribution, Enterprise Transformation, Post Merger Integration, Outsourcing and Client Service. Prior to this Chris worked at Accenture.

Divakar Padmanathan

Director and UK Management Committee Member

Divakar is a Director in Alpha’s UK Asset & Wealth Management business. He is focused on advising clients on how best to develop scalable, efficient Distribution operating models. He has led engagements for 20+ asset and wealth managers globally, and his experience spans strategy definition and design, through to implementation support and ongoing competitor benchmarking.

Claire Wallace

Executive Director and UK Management Committee Member

Claire is an Executive Director in Alpha’s Regulatory Compliance practice and has over 21 years experience covering regulator, in-house risk and compliance and consulting roles.

She has held a number of controlled functions  and senior management roles, leading global teams, and prior to joining Alpha acted as an interim global CRO for a large UK asset manager for 18 months.

Claire’s expertise is in implementing regulatory change and the review and design of operating models for risk and compliance functions.

Nick Dekker

Director and UK Management Committee Member

Nick is a Director at Alpha with more than 11 years’ asset management industry experience.

He has led numerous projects in leading asset managers to help Distribution functions operate more efficiently, while reducing risk. His areas of focus include rebates and commissions management, obligations and legal agreement management, due diligence and ongoing oversight, and distributor on-boarding.

Prior to joining Alpha, Nick was a Director in KPMG’s Asset Management consulting practice, focussing on Distribution and Risk.

Tom Whitson

Director and UK Management Committee Member

Tom is a Director in Asset & Wealth Management Consulting at Alpha with over 11 years experience in the industry and 15 years as a consultant helping clients to transform their businesses primarily through the use of technology.

Tom has significant experience working in the Middle East having spent five years based in the UAE working across a range of technology programmes helping clients to implement Investment Books of Record, Performance and Risk management systems.

Henry Lee

UK Recruiter

Henry is an experienced recruiter with over 11 years in the industry with a mixture of inhouse and recruitment consultancy knowledge. Previously, he has worked recruiting into the Asset & Wealth Management industries as well recruiting for strategic consultant positions at Mastercard Data & Services. He is passionate about driving innovate and novel recruitment strategies to attract top talent to organisations as well as being actively involved in championing diversity and inclusion initiatives. His main role is hiring senior Management Consultants across Alpha UK’s AWM & INS boutiques, but Henry also works to deliver our early careers campaigns.

Outside of the office he enjoys gardening, furniture building and getting stuck into anything DIY related.

Bernie Ward

UK Recruitment Assistant

Bernie joined Alpha in 2022 moving in-house from an recruitment agency role. She supports both AWM and INS recruitment for the UK. Bernie is passionate about creating a smooth hiring process and positive candidate experience by supporting the recruitment team in administrative tasks such as coordinating hiring activities, scheduling interviews, screening resumes, and maintaining candidate databases.

Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, going to the cinema and exploring nature!
